THE BUSINESS PROGRAM
PROGRAM GOAL
Acknowledge and encourage our members’ business accomplishments with quality education, support, fellowship, awards & recognition
FELLOW OF BUSINESS DEGREE
The Fellow of Business Degree closely follows the structure of PPW’s Fellow of Photography Degree. It differs primarily because it is focused on photography business excellence, rather than photographic technique & image excellence. In order to earn a PPW Fellow of Business Degree (FB), a candidate must earn at least 25 Business Merits, 15 Service Merits, and 10 other merits of any category. In addition to earning these merits, to earn this degree, candidates must demonstrate basic proficiency in 5 proficiency areas: Pricing, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Business Metrics. The Business Programs Committee is in charge of the programs that provide Business Merit opportunities for members to work toward their FB degree. The following programs are offered each year to provide opportunities to make progress toward earning the degree. Additional business programs may be considered for ways to offer additional business merits. | Fellow of Business Degree (FB) - 50 Merits
In addition to earning the above merits, candidates must demonstrate basic proficiency in the following areas:

THE PPW BUSINESS INSTITUTE
This program will take place at the same time as the spring Innovate Conference.
At the Business Institute, a panel of business mentors will present curriculum and proficiency criteria for a sub-set of the 5 proficiencies emphasized in the FB Degree. For each topic covered, a participant will have the opportunity to earn a Proficiency Credit, indicating key progress toward their degree. Work must be reviewed and judged sufficient by the Business Programs Committee before a credit can be earned.
Attendance at the Business Institute will qualify the recipient to earn one Business Merit for each full day, regardless of credits earned.
PPA service merits may be earned upon approval from PPA for an additional fee.
This monthly business mastermind program meets throughout the year. The group is intended for serious professional photographers who want to sustain a profitable business in the photography industry. This program will aid in supporting the diligence and focus that is necessary for business success. Members who attend and participate regularly can earn one business merit per quarter toward their degree.
