Eastern District (Spokane) Steptoe Butte Excursion

Let's get out and social distance ourselves from our homes and meet up at Steptoe Butte. The fields are beautiful this time of year! Lets plan to meet up around 6 pm and we can hang out ( 6 feet part ) and hopefully get some images. Looks like sunset is around 8:40 pm and there is lots to shoot. Hope to see you there....

Discovery Pass required which you should purchase from your local Dept of Licensing, or online or many retail stores Do not forget your pass as the ticket is three times the price of the Discovery Pass itself.

If you have never made the trip, here is your chance to join a group all while practicing social distancing. Dress in layers it is often windy on the butte, as the sun sets it gets cooler. Pack some food or coffee, hot coco, something caffeinated for yourself as you need to be alert while driving back home after 10:30pm. Bring a flash light with a red gel over the lens to be respectful to others who may still be photographing and protect everyone's night vision.

Do not forget your tripod.

DIRECTIONS to Steptoe Butte - From U.S. 195:Six miles north of Colfax, turn east on Scholz Rd. Follow signs to Oakesdale and Steptoe Butte.
